The Alzheimer's Gala: An Evening For the Mind
February 6, 2009
The Ferry Building , San Francisco
Alzheimer’s Research For A Cure Foundation is pleased to announce the 2009 Inaugural Alzheimer’s Gala: An Evening for the Mind, February 6, 2009 at the Ferry Building, San Francisco. It is our hope that this annual event will continue to fund research for Alzheimer’s until there is a cure.
Support is building within the community as word is spreading about our inaugural Gala. We have just received our second Corporate Patron-level underwriting contribution, and several law firms, financial, and venture firms have already committed to buy tables. The Gala will be an exclusive, black tie affair limited to less than 300 seats, so there is a good chance that it will sell out before the invitations are sent.
The live auction will feature a limited number of distinctive packages dense with exceptional, once-in-a-lifetime opportunities. There will be something for everyone: the art collector, the automobile aficionado, the wine connoisseur, and the adventurer. BMW of Concord has generously donated a BMW Mini for our auction. Cult wine packages wineries that will astound the palate have been culled from private cellars and luxurious travel opportunities are currently being assembled.
Thus far, we have secured the support of Robert John Russo Gallery in Los Angeles for our silent auction items. The gallery will present extraordinary pieces of art by contemporary masters to the auction, and has graciously offered to donate a significant portion of their proceeds. Robert John Russo Gallery specializes in Miro, Matisse, Picasso, Renoir, and Dali.
The pre-gala benefactor party will take place at the illustrious St. Regis Hotel and commencing in a private residence for the cocktail party and then moving on to a exquisite dinner in the hotel. The Gala Dinner will take place in the historical Ferry Building furnished with the renowned cuisine of Paula Le Duc, and design production talent of Billy Harris of St. Clair’s Gourmet.
Caviar Affair Magazine is one of our honored media sponsors and will be dedicating a full page ad for our cause. The Alzheimer’s Gala will be covered their winter issue with a post-gala piece and photographs in their spring issue.
We are very fortunate to have Sandra Mandel as this year’s gala chair. She
